About this Course

"Open to runners of all experience levels, WCI Cross Country is designed to help middle school athletes build endurance, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for fitness. Whether you're a returning runner, new to the sport, or a multi-sport athlete looking to boost your overall performance, this program offers a supportive and flexible environment to thrive.Whether you’re a multi-sport athlete looking to add cross country to your schedule without feeling overwhelmed, or you’re focused solely on running, this program can fit your needs. For those not involved in another sport, we recommend a commitment of at least 3 practices per week to see the best results and build consistency. Our runners will also have the chance to participate in local meets—a fun way to test progress and celebrate achievements. While meet participation is strongly encouraged, athletes who prefer to focus on training without competing are still welcomed with open arms. To make the most of the experience, runners will need to bring: A basic digital watch (to help with pacing and time goals) A water bottle (hydration is key!) Comfortable running shoes and clothing Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, etc.) This isn’t just about miles—it’s about building a “Fitness for Life” mindset, discovering the joy of running, and joining a supportive community that celebrates every step forward. Co-Ed program. *No practice fall break 10/13-10/17*
