About this Course

We will create painterly portraits using Pan Pastel and charcoal pencils. The class will focus on capturing the realism without losing the energy and mood of the subject. Pan Pastel is like a bridge between painting and drawing. It is very forgiving and easily erased. You can create both linear and thick painterly effects with this medium. We will use photographs as our reference and focus on how to see correctly and read values and shapes to capture the essence and resemblance in our portraits Black Panpastel with applicator, General brand charcoal pencils in black and white color, pastel paper in grey or any neutral color, kneaded eraser and soft facial tissue or rag. One reference photo in black and white.
